Home for the Holidays

Memorial weekend was a holiday were most Americans stayed at home. On CNN they stated that 80% of Americans stayed at home, and 1% traveled by plane. There was also less people driving on the roads, and less people traveling by bus and train. Due to the high prices of gas people are refusing to pay those prices at the pump. This is a great opportunity to turn your home into a wonderful vacation or become a tourist in your own town. So go all out and turn that pool area into a deserted island, or turn that backyard into a music camp ground where you invite your friends and family over put a tent up, make some smores and sing songs into the middle of the night. Get creative, have fun and make the best out of every moment.

Mother's Day Afternoon Tea

Today I threw a Afternoon Tea for my mother, sisters and sister in law (all who are mother's). I thought it would be nice to honor my mom and all my sisters who are moms with a wonderful Tea Party. The menu consist of egg salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches, strawberry bellini's, red velvet cupcakes w/ pink buttercream frosting, mini pecan sandie and chocolate chip cookies, mini cheesecake w/ raspberry sauce, coconut macaroons w/ dark chocolate drizzle on top and tea and coffee. They were blown away by the presentation of the six vases w/ roses arrange on the table as a centerpiece and also it was given as a party favor to my guests. Once everyone ate we played games and gave away prizes to the winners (everyone left with a prize). The food was great, the desserts were delicious and everyone had so much fun. This day turn out to be a success that my guests will remember.

Making Smart Choices

I know that alot of times we want to eat what we want without being bother by others or the government. The reason why the government, restaurants and supermarkets are giving you information about the ingredients that are inside of your food is to make you responsible for your health. We know that trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, refined white flour and sugar just to name a few are not good for your health.

So let us all stop blaming the government and everybody else for our weight gain. Make better choices by educating your self by choosing foods you can pronounce on the labels. And last, by combining exercise, eating healthy, and being positive equals a healthy lifestyle.
